Jason Mackey's Penguins chat transcription
Jason Mackey: Hi, people. Happy thursday. Today in the office, so I thought we would talk. He'll be back at 1 in the afternoon. to answer all your questions. As always, thank you for spending time here.
Jason Mackey: Okay, let's do it. Sorry for being late. He spoke with Linda Parker, an assistant editor for P-G, the nicest person in the world and perhaps the biggest fan of Marc-Andre Fleury in the world. So, let's do it ...
Steven: Did Rutherford meet any RFA agent to your knowledge?
Jason Mackey: Yes. These are in progress. I expect all NHL guests to come back.
Jason Mackey: Just like on the side, people: we ended up with "daddy" stuff. It's unproductive and has its course. These questions in the queue will not be pushed through. Thanks, management.
Guest: What do you think JR thinks Pen's needs next year that would help them get back to the Cup final?
Jason Mackey: Depth of defense and better fourth line. GMJR told me last week: http: //www.post-gazette.com/sports/penguins/2018/05/21/penguins-offsea ...
Matt in Cleveland: Of the six D-men on the ice that will start in the 2018-19 season, how many are there now?
Jason Mackey: I'll go with a five. ... Letang, Dumoulin, Maatta, Schultz and Ruhwedel / Oleksiak. ... They will reach six on July 1.
Jeffry Y: Do you think Daniel Sprong will do well on the NHL?
Jason Mackey: Actually. He does not intend to compete for the Selke Trophy, but if you leave him alone and let him do it, I definitely think he could score 20-30 goals in 2018-19.
Matt in Cleveland: Will Jooris come back with a pen? I think he showed more in his limited time with pens than Rowney.
Jason Mackey: Yes, I think it is possible, depending on what else, if you get anything, I get a suggestion. They liked his ability to move back and forth. He is a decent skater. He can do many different things. If they can get it cheaply, I think Penguins would be interested in it.
AR: why can not Kuznetsova hurt during the second round? In all seriousness, I think he was the best player in these playoffs as a skater, but as we know, Conn Smythe goes to the biggest name
Jason Mackey: Never eradicate so that the guy gets hurt. I would also give Conn Smythe to Ovechkin or Holtby if the capital were to win it.
Guest: Is it possible that the pens will get Robin Lehnner? As a spare goalkeeper
Jason Mackey: No, I do not think so. I think they are very happy with Jarry / DeSmith in this role.
Guest: there Sidney Crosby?
Jason Mackey: In the office with me? No.
Mike: Do you think that Oleksiak has achieved his potential? I think I remember that it was initially a better choice.
Jason Mackey: No. I think there are more. He started very strong, but it did not end well. I think that his transition still requires some work. There is also more crime there, IMO.
Guest: Do you think that JR may be interested in signing de Haan in a free agency or too expensive?
Jason Mackey: I think it would be a very realistic addition and someone who penguins will look at.
Jason Mackey: That's great. It's great that you did it. I still stick to what I know: he will probably have a gap year, and there are some family matters that could tie him to Raleigh. Penguins would not mind, but there is more to it.
Alex: Do you think that Paul Martin (of course, keeping a salary) is a reasonable commercial goal? This last season was an anomaly due to a nagging injury (I think). It will bring us the leadership of the veterans we missed and a solid defensive game.
Jason Mackey: He would do it. You're right. But I think age and regression would be a problem. Especially when I wonder how much sharks will be willing to return.
